Are you a Driver Trainer with a passion for Safety?

GREAT! We are looking for you to join our exceptional team in Vaudreuil!

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a commercial vehicle driver, coupled with strong training and instructional skills to develop both new recruits and experienced drivers. The selected individual will evaluate the driving skills of potential candidates and conduct safety training according to XTL's comprehensive driver training program. Through follow-up and coaching, the Driver Trainer will advocate for the professional behaviors and expectations upheld by XTL.
 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial vehicle driving experience
  • Office experience mandatory
  • Valid AZ commercial license (Class 1)

  • Bilingual (required for Quebec-based positions)

  • Strong knowledge of transportation safety and compliance

  • Proven ability to instruct, teach, and facilitate in a classroom setting

  • Ability to work with technical tools such as E-logs and compliance apps

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge in:

    • Hours of Service / Fatigue Prevention

    • Dangerous Goods

    • Defensive Driving

    • WHMIS / Health & Safety
       

Responsibilities:

  • Log Auditing: Review E-Logs daily, resolve conflicts, and document training/corrective actions

  • Telematics Investigation: Monitor at-risk behavior and coach drivers accordingly

  • Safety Trends & Reporting: Analyze driver performance and provide remedial training

  • Driver Evaluation: Conduct circle checks and road skill testing; provide coaching and documentation

  • Orientation & Mentoring: Deliver safety/orientation training, road tests, update handbooks, and track certifications

  • Mentor Program Management: Coordinate assignments, monitor performance, enter mentor pay, and participate in meetings

  • Performance Reviews: Conduct 30/60/90-day and annual reviews, blitz audits, and promote compliance awareness

  • Continuous Improvement: Assist in system issues, develop training materials, maintain schedules, and participate in proactive safety initiatives

  • Accidents & Health & Safety: Support accident investigations, ensure timely reporting, document corrective actions, oversee health & safety program, and chair safety committee meetings
