Schedule and secure resources (driver, equipment, etc) in order to achieve planned logistics orders
Dispatch loads to drivers through AS400
Pro-actively plan for contingencies in order to prevent service failures
Assess and predict operational resources needed to achieve service in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible
Work with the maintenance department to ensure that we have the equipment necessary to service the customer needs
Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments at customer locations
Ensure all satellite messages are answered promptly and efficiently, forwarding or following-up on all those that need it
Ensure all macros are completed and equipment movement is correct
Answer phone calls and direct them to the correct party as needed
Communicate load assignments to drivers and resolve driver issues if any occur
Customer Service
Manage all Accessorials: Send forms for additional services and ensure that the billing for any Accessorials is complete
Ensure all EDI orders are accepted, updated and reflected accurately in the TMS
Update appointments as per customer requests while updating drivers of any changes
Communicate with customers of any delays or change in appointments
Book loading and unloading appointments when required for customers
Process driver pays
Other Assignments
Provide assistance and coverage for all departments as needed by management
Improve driver retention by providing Excellent Customer Service and always being fair with all drivers
Ensure absolute data integrity when arranging, managing and executing orders
Communicate any and all disciplinary issues to Operations Manager and Human Resources
Communicate all safety related issues to the Safety Department
Monitor Road & Weather Conditions, keeping Drivers Informed, if there is delay to f foresee, do the necessary changes in order to service customer on time
Skills & Requirements
1-2 years dispatching experience (preferred but not required)
Experience with AS400, TMS, Elogs, People Net and Safety Direct systems is an asset
Knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent Oral and Written communication skills
Strong Analytical capabilities with excellent attention to detail
Team player who is able to work well in groups
Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion
Organization and Time management skills
Ability to Prioritize and Manage Time
Schedule Friday to Monday, 7:30 am to 6 pm Training will take place Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4 pm.
